If the domain configuration for ``Credits can be specified for courses'' is set to ``Yes'' then default(s) can also be set in a domain for the number of course credits for official and unofficial courses.  In addition the customizable localenroll.pm provides a mechanism to set the credits available for a particular official coursa,e if that number can be retrieved from an institutional data source.

A Domain Coordinator can also choose to override the domain default (on a course-by-course basis) by setting the number of credits for a specific course.
